Ngwala Inventions is a private technology company registered in Tanzania (2019), making organic farming more profitable, increasing human safety, and reducing climate change by converting organic wastes to high-quality two-in-one low-cost organic pesticides and fertilizers (Ngwala Organics). The production is done without energy consumption using natural, complex enzymatic process, microbes, and green nanotechnology. The product is produced without energy consumption, supporting good health, soil fertility, increasing plant and soil capacity to retain water, and conserving biodiversity resulting in safety for human beings, high yields and climate sequestration.


    Not only produce organic pesticides and fertilizers, but also design, operate, and deploy Ngwala Digital Dispensers at large scale using Ngwala Inventions technologies. The digital dispensers support the delivering and selling of in-house and 3rd party organic pesticides and fertilizer direct to farmers on farm, on pay as you farm, on demand, and on credit, which results in a reduction of transport costs, saves time for smallholder farmers, eliminates harmful chemicals, and supports zero waste farming.


    Since establishment, the company has helped 30,000 smallholder farmers from Tanzania, Kenya, and Rwanda, lowering crop production costs by 30% and increasing yields from 1.5 tons to 3 tons per hectare, as well as increasing their incomes, enabling them to shift from living under $1 to over $5 per day. Ngwala Inventions is working hard to reach 100 million smallholder farmers in Africa by 2025.

    >Chemical exposure of pesticides and fertilizers causes 385 million cases of acute poisoning annually, with approximately 200,000 deaths (UNEP, 2020). This means that 60% of the global populations working on farms are poisoned every year. Not only causes human poisoning but also loss of biodiversity and soil infertility, causing farmers to lose potential yields by 50% (FAO, 2021). In addition, chemical pesticides & fertilizer cause climate change, land and water pollution when they enter water sources.


    >Organic farm inputs (pesticide and fertilizer) are sold long distances from farms and at a high price; this increases the cost of crop production and discourages farmers from using quality organic pesticides or fertilizers, lowering potential yields by 50%.

    • Each season, a farmer loses 120 hours and pays a travel cost of $150.

    >Improper disposal of empty pesticide containers causes chemical exposure, affecting human health and the environment.

    We use organic wastes such as garbage and fruit peels from markets, households, and farms mixed with botanical extracts to form two-in-one organic pesticides and fertilizers (Ngwala Organics). The product is produced without energy consumption using complex natural enzymatic processes, microbes, and green nanotechnology. The low-cost Ngwala Organics serves as the best and most effective organic pesticide and fertilizer for sustainable farming compared to the usual chemical pesticides and fertilizers. The product is environment-friendly and produced with high technology, having a shelf life of more than 2 years and a very high concentration compared to other organic pesticides and fertilizers in the market. It supports human safety, soil fertility, increasing plant and soil capacity to retain water, and conserving biodiversity, resulting in human safety, high yields, and climate sequestration.

    Designing, manufacturing, and deploying Ngwala Smart Delivers at large scale is used to deliver high-quality organic pesticides and fertilizers to small-holder farmers on demand, pay as you farm, and at the lowest cost. The machines are connected to a mobile app to allow farmers to track expenditures, quantities, and impacts. The system is a substitute for the traditional way of distributing pesticides and fertilizer using packages or containers. It delivers high-quality organic pesticides and fertilizers and provides easy access to farm inputs, allowing farmers to pay via mobile money and receive the exact quantities and refill containers for zero waste farming. Also provides access to credit services for farmers, particularly young people and women with limited financial resources, to purchase farm inputs in cash.

    Climate change and pollution from farm chemicals and plastic waste/containers have been on the rise, resulting in human poisoning, water and land pollution. We produce environment friendly, low cost organic pesticides and fertilizer, replacing chemical farm inputs. Its distribution is done using Ngwala Smart Delivers, which allow farmers to refill their canisters.

    Smart Logistics:

    Smart Logistics: Last mile delivery of farm inputs has been a challenge to farmers especially when comes to poor condition of rural infrastructures. Ngwala Inventions uses large trucks over small ones (economies of scale) for distributing organic pesticides and fertilizer to refill our Smart Delivers. Our innovative smart logistics platform allows us to efficiently deliver organic farm input to farmers on the farm at the lowest cost while reducing carbon emissions.
